Isle of Man Easter Festival as Popular as Ever

Once again the Isle of Man hosted the annual Easter Festival which attacts a host of goodrunners from all over the country. The festival runs over 3 days and includes a 10km race, 5km hill race and a 4x5km relay race over the 3 day event with runners positional scores being added together to result in overall positions fo rthe full event. With team prizes up for grabs aswell, good spport and a great atmosphere was a certainty.
James Walsh was in dominant form during the Easter Athletics Festival in the Isle of Man winning both men's races by huge margins and setting the fastest time in the 4 x 5km relay for good measure. Sarah Inglis (825) was the overall winner of the women's competition with wins in the 10km road run and Peel Hill race and second in the 5km road run. Emma Raven (850) was second overall and won the 5km. Sula Young, third overall, was only 10th in this picture (just ahead of Gail Griffiths 862) but finished fourth. Kerrie Harris finished finished 5th in this race and 6th overall).

Matthew Gillespie finished 2nd in every category but at the top of Peel Hill he was following eventual 3rd placed Michael Gillespie (5th overall) Alex Bellow (4th on the day but 3rd overall). Even in April the remnants of the worst winter weather in the Isle of Man for many years can still be seen on the mountains in the background.
