Man Marathons

Runners in the 2009 Isle of Man Marathon

For something that little bit smaller and a little bit different, why not sign up for this year's Salclear Isle of Man Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday August 8? The races, organised by the Isle of Man Veteran Athletes' Club (IOMVAC) have been described as 'small and friendly', giving runners a change from the big events on the UK mainland.

With a fairly flat course, reaching one peak of 259 feet, these races give runners just enough of a challenge, while also giving entrants the chance to really enjoy the spectacular scenery on the island.

The race, sponsored by Salclear, will be followed by a presentation of prizes and a free buffet for all competitors. Trophies will be awarded to the first three in all age groups - men and women - and all finishers will receive a unique medal, T-shirt and goody bag.

To find out more, or to enter these races, please visit the IOMVAC website.
