Leeds & Liverpool Race Action

Springtime race action comes to the north of England with major events being staged in Leeds and Liverpool this weekend (Sunday, May 9). The GDF SUEZ Leeds Half Marathon is sold out with 3,500 entries for the main event plus around 1,000 runners expected for the Corporate Challenge. The action starts at 9.30am at Millennium Square in Leeds city centre. There's still time to enter the Women's 10K/5K in Liverpool; organisers can still accept entries at their office in JJB Sports, Williamson Square, Liverpool or on the day at £20 for the 10K and £15 for the 5K.
The winners of the Leeds race (both male and female) will each receive £500 in prize money. and the the first male and female from the Leeds local authority area, or from a Leeds club, will each receive £200 in prize money. Meanwhile in Liverpool, Women's 10K organiser Alan Rothwell told northernrunningguide.com: "There's still time to join in the fun at Sefton Park on Sunday. This is a great event with a terrific atmosphere. It's a well established event and one that female runners really enjoy." Check out the 10K route here.
