Breaking Records At parkrun

7 MAY2010

parkrun logo

parkrun managed to break through the 5000-runner attendance barrier thanks to record-breaking attendances at the Heaton Park, Hull and Leeds events. Most notably, Leeds Hyde Park parkrun had an attendance of 333, the first time this course has seen in excess of 300 runners on any one day.

A course record was also broken at the Newcastle run, with Ian Hudspith running the 5K course in 15:07:00, only one of three runners this week to brush away the 16 minute mark. As parkrun continues to grow in popularity, runners will be looking to push themselves to break the 15 minute barrier when tomorrow's races get underway.
