Are You Fit Enough?
25 MAY2010

Runners who looking for a challenge this September should look no further than the Paras' 10 race in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire. A two-race charity event, this uniquely tough run follows the same undulating multi terrain course used in Paratrooper selection.
Now in its third year, the Paras' 10 has seen fantastic success with 2,500 runners raising £100,000 for service charities in 2009, after a huge increase from the inaugral event, attracting just 700 participants. With a bumper race limit of 4,000 this year, 2010's race is set to be the most successful yet, on Sunday September 12.
The race can be completed by runners either with or without a Bergen (rucksack) weighing 35lb. Runners who choose to take on this extra challenge will also need to complete the course in military style boots. Rucksacks will be weighed at the start and end of the race to ensure no cheating takes place.
Entrants choosing to run the course without the added baggage of a Bergen should not, however, think that the race will be easy. The Parachute Regiment is challenging all participants to complete this gruelling running course in the fastest possible time.
