English Half Marathon 2010 Launches

The English Half Marathon and Team Relay is now accepting entries for its 2010 race, on Sunday October 3. The race, dubbed 'The People's Challenge', will take place in Victoria Park, Warrington, starting at 9.00am, with a one mile Fun Run and Wheels event also in Victoria Park that morning.

Although the course hasn't yet been finalised, it will start and finish in Victoria Park, heading out to the rural communities to the south of Warrington, before returning to the town for a grandstand finish on the park's running track.

Always a popular event, competitors in this year's half marathon and team relay will receive a technical t-shirt from the event sponsors, New Balance; and a commemorative medal. Last year saw 1,500 competitors cross the finish line and organisers are hoping that 2010 will bring an even bigger and better race than ever before.

The fun run and wheels event follow a one mile course around the perimeter of Victoria Park and give families and wheelchair users a perfect opportunity to soak up some of the day's atmosphere. At only £5 per entry, organisers are hoping that lots of people will turn out on the day to compete the run and receive their medal.

Priced at just £29 (£35 for team of two), the English Half Marathon and Team Relay is a great event that always has a fantastic atmosphere. Entries don't close until September 12 2010, however, runners are encouraged to register as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.
