TRI For Your Nation
15 JUN2010

This weekend saw 300 athletes compete in the TRI Nations vs. UK Triathlon and 10K Runs, with the UK coming second in both events. The races, which took place at Dorney Lake, Windsor, on Sunday June 13, had a festival atmosphere as the competitors donned their country's colours to take part in the race.
Participants of all levels competed, from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK, with the overall times of each nation added to make a final score. The triathlon was won by Toby Matthewson of the UK with a time of 55:06 but his country did not win, as overall, Australia gained the most points. The course saw competitors swim for 400m, cycle for 20K and run the last 5K, around the Dorney Lake estate, which will play host to the 2012 Olympic rowing.
The 10K race took runners twice around the lake, on a very flat and scenic course. New Zealand won the race overall, however the fastest around the course was Dmitry Drozdov, representing Russia, finishing in a time of 37:26. The race also saw competitors from France, Sweden, Italy, USA, Denmark, Afghanistan and Holland.
