parkrun Comes To Oldham

Runners in Oldham will, tomorrow, be able to run in their first ever parkrun event, with a new course starting in the town's Alexandra Park at 9am tomorrow morning.
parkrun gives runners the chance to participate in a free, weekly, timed 5K race, at various locations throughout the country. Oldham parkrun is one of three new events starting this weekend and the course will involve three laps starting from the "Lion's Den" in Alexandra Park. All parkrunners are invited to join the team for post run coffee in the Boathouse Cafe after the run.
All parkrun events would not be possible without the help of a team of dedicated volunteers, who carry out a variety of tasks every Saturday morning to ensure the smooth running of each parkrun. As Oldham is a new event, it is in desperate need of some volunteers. Anyone who can spare an hour or so on a Saturday morning to help should email: oldhamHelpers@parkrun.com.
