Records Still Standing In Harrogate

26 JUL2010

The Harrogate Town Centre 10K took place yesterday under perfect racing conditions, however the course records remain unbeaten. 611 finishers took on the challenge of that was North Yorkshire's fastest 10K in 2009, in the hope of beating Stephen Hepples and Helen Decker's fastest times.

Coming through in first place was Darren Bilton of Leeds City AC with a time of 31:48, almost a minute off the record pace, while Vicky Whitehead of Valley Striders fell short by two minutes, in 37:38. Claudette and Robin Miller finished off the race in 1:18:53, while the midpoint runner was Claudia Cottier with a time of 50:50.

The race is run each year in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and full results are available here.
