Speed In Salford

16 AUG2010

The start of the 2009 Salford 10K

The City of Salford 10K is fast approaching, so runners looking to take part in the September 5 event need to get their entries in quick, to secure their entry in the second running of this event.

Last year's inaugural race saw Jessica Riley and Tom Charles set down the markers as the fastest man and woman, with many runners this year aiming to beat Tom's course record of 33:43.

The race will start and finish in the heart of Salford Quays in the Lowry Plaza. The course will take runners over the Lowry Bridge and past sights such as the Imperial War Museum and Old Trafford Football Stadium, before returning to the quays.

The City of Salford 10K is sponsored by JD Sports and looks set to become one of the most anticipated on the calendar, with over 1,000 entrants expected on the day. Register for your place online with Sports Tours International.
