Team Adidas Pull Through For TERREX Title
31 AUG2010
The adidas TERREX adventure race took place at the weekend, with competitors braving the elements in this extreme adventure race. 32 teams took part, with team adidas TERREX winning ahead of team Accelerate B, the second of two adventure racing teams associated with Accelerate, the popular running shop in Sheffield.
The competitors started this inaugural TERREX adventure race on Friday, August 27, finishing up yesterday morning. The teams had to endure a mixture of running, orienteering, cycling and paddling from Bolton le Sands to the finish line in Keswick's main street. The adidas team finished with a total race time of 71:31:32, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Nick Gracie, team adidas TERREX captain said, "We knew the race would be close at the start with just few hours between teams and planned to push harder in mid-race, particularly on the treks, which is when we gained most time."
Each team was made up of four competitors and had to include at least one of each sex. This race was the first of its kind in Britain for three years and the organises hope to make it a more frequent event in the years to come. For more information visit the race website.
