Fell Race To Warm The Legs

Do you fancy a Christmas run on the fells? If so then the 5th race in a series of 11 fell races organised by Cleveland NEHRA takes place on Sunday, December 27, 2009. The event takes place at Guisborough Woods with a starting time of 11am. The race itself is 5.9miles long with a climb of 1230ft. So if you fancy a good hill race post Christmas to work off those mince pies and mulled wine then this is the one for you!

Registration / changing and parking are all available at Guisborough Rugby Club. The race route is planned for inclement weather and is a three loop course (juniors do only 1 lap). The race route is pre-determined, with marshals positioned on the course to make sure you stick to the route outlined. Last year's race was won by Matt Speake of Knavesmire Harriers in a time of 35.20 minutes, with Megan Ellis of Loftus and Whitby winning the women's race in a time of 48.12 minutes.

The complete Fell Race Series consists of 11 races with your best 6 results to count towards your final position so there are still enough races to count between now and the middle of April. Esk Valley Fell Club hosts the events, which take place in a different location around the Lake District region ensuring stunning scenery whatever the weather!.
