10K Round Richmond Castle

The Richmond Castle 10K has been a popular Yorkshire race since its establishment on its present course in 2002. This year's race will take place eon October 17 and runners are encouraged to enter soon, as the race has reached capacity quickly in the past few years.
The race will start in the cobbled market place of Richmond, before taking runners past the Richmond Falls on the River Swale, before crossing the river at Green Bridge and climbing Sleegill, giving runners beautiful views over to Richmond Castle. The course continues with a short circuit of Catterick Garrison before a grand finish in the grounds of the castle.
Course records for the race currently stand at 32:38 for the men, set by Darran Bilton (Leeds City) in 2005 and the women's record stands with Sheila Allen (Houghton and Peterlee), a time of 39:29 the one to beat.
Race organisers will provide refreshments to the runners taking part, as well as the race having its own real ale festival. The ales can be purchased after the race and even taken home to enjoy later. More information can be found here.
