Celebrities Come Out For Bupa Great North Run

The Bupa Great North Run will be a star-studded affair from the off on Sunday with a host of celebrities running in the race, as well as the race being officially started by Geordie duo Ant and Dec.
Toeing the start line with 50,000 other runners will be a group of soap stars in the TV Times 'Banana Army'. Raising money For Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, stars from Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Eastenders will take on the famous 13.1 mile course for this fantastic cause.
Joining them in the starting line up will be X Factor 2009 winner, Joe McElderry, raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust. Singer/Songwriter Ellie Goulding will also be competing along with Scott Mills of Radio 1.
The stars don't stop there, one of the world's greatest long distance runners, Haile Gebrselassie, will compete in the race for the first time and Olympic medallist, Sonia O'Sullivan will be taking on a unique challenge. Sonia will start right at the back of the field in a bid to pass as many of the 54,000 runners as possible, throughout the 13.1 mile course.
Any runners who are joining the celebs and taking on the world's most famous half marathon this weekend, can enter our fantastic 'predict your time' competition. The closest male and female to their predicted time will win some great new gear with a prize package from Mizuno.
