Running In The Liverpool Rain
4 OCT2010
The Asics Liverpool 10K saw 1,700 runners take part in a hugely successful event, despite torrential rain and muddy facilities. The wet weather did not dampen spirits as all runners and helpers made this event one of the biggest and best in the race's history.
First over the finish line was Jonny Mellor (Liverpool Harriers & A.C.), who finished in 30mins exactly, followed two minutes later by team mate, John Mccole. Ben Russell came in third in 33:21. Liverpool Harriers & A.C. completed a 1,2,3 clean sweep in the ladies' race, with Jenny Clague winning in 36:37, Catherine Draper taking second spot in a time of 37:42 and Sophie Whiteside rounding off the women's top three in 38:19.
Finishing off the 10K was Julie Gleave (NRG Fitness) in 1:23:14 and the mid point runner was Fionntán Mcneice in 53:07. Congratulations to all who took part, a full list of results is available here.

Entries are also open for 2011s Liverpool Half Marathon, which will see up to 6000 runners take to the streets in March.
