England's Better By Half

The New Balance English Half Marathon was held in Warrington this weekend, with 1800 runners taking part in this increasingly popular race. The race was a great success and organisers are already looking forward to next year's event.

Winning the half marathon in 1:07:47 was James Connor of Kent AC, followed closely behind by team-mate John Gilbert, who finished in 1:08:16. James Scott-Buccleuch of Stockport Harriers & AC rounded off the top three, in 1:13:35. The ladies winner was Jennie Guard of Leeds City AC, finishing in 1:23:37, an impressive 15th overall. Second and third in the woman's competition were unattached Kelly Dennison (1:28:17) and Louise Blizzard of Belgrave Harriers (1:30:05).

Debra and Marcus Temple finished the race off in 3:37:13, and the mid point runners was Gemma Buckley of Warrington Road Runners, in 1:57:01. Full results can be found here.
