A Run At The Seaside

8 OCT2010

Runners in a previous Seaside 10K

The Asics Seaside 10k will get underway in Southport on Sunday, with hundreds of runners taking to the streets under predicted clear blue skies. Some of the runners will be attempting to break the current course record of 32:01, set by Tarus Elly in 2006.

The race will have a new and improved course in 2010, with the race starting and finishing in Princes Park, taking runners to the seafront, before leading them back though the Kings Gardens and along the lower promenade.

The race is organised by local retailer, Natterjack Running who took over from the town's 5 mile race, after the decline of the once popular half marathon. The 10K race has been an annual event since 2005, with numbers growing each year. Good luck to everyone taking part in races over the weekend, and remember to check out our race listing for results.
