The Dash Is On In Deepdale

14 OCT2010

The inaugural Deepdale Dash 10K will take place on November 7, 2010, organised by Barton and District AC. The event will consist of a 10K race and 2K fun run and is sponsored by local retailer, Metres to Miles. The club has not organised a race in many years and are excited about its potential.

The course will start and finish in the historic market town of Barton upon Humber, before taking an undulating route through the beautiful countryside around Deepdale. The race will return for a fast finish at Baysgarth School in the town.

Runners will be able to get a rub down from local sports therapist, Andrew Coulson, as well as purchasing some new gear from Metres to Miles. The event should be a friendly family day out, with spectators and runners able to tuck into a drink and some home-made cakes after the race.

The race is limited to an entry of 200 runners, but this number may grow in future years. Runners can enter by downloading a form for the Deepdale Dash 10K website and sending it by post before October 22, although entries will also be taken on the day, if the race limit has not been met.
