New Year's Day Morpeth 11km Race
21 DEC2009
What better way to start the New Year by getting on those running trainers and blowing those cobwebs away that might have developed over the Christmas period?! Enter the Morpeth 11km Road Race and start 2010 as you mean to continue.

The 11km route takes in an attractive scenic course through historic Northumberland (the traditional route is via Mitford, Mitford Steads and the Whalton Road) and includes some challenging hills to get your teeth into. And with a start time of 1pm, you can still have a lie in after the New Year's Eve festivities! Registration and late entries are being taken from 11.30am at the Morpeth Harriers Clubhouse at Morpeth Rugby Club (Grange House Field, Mitford Road, Morpeth). Pre-Race entry is £5 for affiliated runners and £7 for non-affiliated runners (with an extra £2 for entries on race day)
The 2009 race saw victories for Nick Swinburn of Morpeth Harriers in 33.36 minutes and Angela Hibbs of Chester Le Street in 39.46 minutes. 138 runners took part on New Year's Day in 2009 and it is bound to be a well contested race again to kick start the 2010 racing calendar.
