Run in England members in Liverpool have started gearing up for a big event in 2011, the Knowsley Active Challenge, on May 15 at Knowsleyy Hall. Although the event is more than 5 months away, the groups, led by Steve Guy, are determined to take part and fly the flag for Run in England at the popular event.
Steve said, "We want to promote health, fitness and teamwork in Knowsley so there is a 5K adult run and the Junior Active 2K run". A new 10 week running programme started last night at Kirkby Sports College and another will run from tomorrow evening from KGV College in Huyton.
The Knowsley Active Challenge is a great target for runners and there really is something for everyone, with walking, running and junior events. "There really is no excuse not to take part. Whatever your age or ability, get involved and enjoy a family fun day out, browse the stalls and enjoy the free entertainment and activities on offer throughout the day", added Steve.
Knowsley has Run in England groups meeting each Monday and Tuesday between 6 and 7pm from Kirkby Sports College and Wednesdays from 6 until 7pm from KGV College in Huyton. Entry forms for the Challenge are available online.
