Vanessa Buckle's Down To Hard Work

11 JAN2011

Vanessa Buckle

Pickering woman Vanessa Buckle has started 2011 with her sights set firmly on the daunting challenge of 10 marathons in 10 days in May. The 42 year old admits to being 'scared, nervous, and excited' but will be inspired by a real commitment to raise money for the Brathay Trust, a charity that helps children that who have suffered physical and mental abuse.

Vanessa reckons her biggest problem is that she needs around 4,000 calories a day, nearly twice the average for a woman of her age and build, to sustain a training regime that is currently at 12 miles per day but will rise to 20 miles by March.

If you would like to help Vanessa reach her target of £3,000 then go her Just Giving page. If you like to read a full interview with Vanessa then visit endurance star Mark Cooper's blog.
