Entries are now open for the Redcar Half Marathon. The event will take place on Sunday, June 12 and a big field (approx 1,500 entries in 2010) is anticipated. This will be the 29th running of the popular race which starts and finishes at the Stray on the sea front in Redcar.

The event, also known as the 'Tees Valley Half Marathon', will start at 10.00 am, 30 minutes earlier than last year. You can enter online until June 9. There will also be a 3K Family Fun Run on the day using Green Lane playing fields - the fun run starts at 10.25am, and a wheelchair race.

As well as being scenic, the route is fast and run on an all-tarmac surfaces so scope for good times and a real PB opportunity. The race is chip-timed.

You can keep up-to-date with the Redcar Half Marathon on the race website or on Facebook.
