Marine Launches Three Peaks Challenge

13 FEB2011

Greg Pye in training

Former Royal Marine Commando, Greg Pye, (34) of Merseyside based company 'Go Commando' is looking for companies and individuals from across the country to create 11 teams of 11 people to undergo one of the most sought-after walking challenges in the UK to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Each team will complete the 3 Peaks Challenge - an ascent and descent of the three highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours: Scotland's Ben Nevis, England's Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon in Wales. The challenges will take place across the summer months and Go Commando take care of everything - from training days and recommended training programmes, to transport, insurance, full mountain leader cover and bags of motivation and support to get you through the challenge successfully.

Greg commented: "I've launched the challenge because I've lost so many friends in Afghanistan and I wanted to do something to help the country's heroes. This year more service men and women than ever will pass through the Personnel Recovery Centres for mental and physical rehabilitation following active service abroad. Help for Heroes work to build and fund the centres as well as contributing vital funds to rebuild lives. Wouldn't it be great if we could raise enough money to provide two extra physiotherapists for a year or something similar? Imagine how much of a difference that could make.

"We are looking for all sorts of professionals from across the UK to take part, from police teams and fire-fighters to doctors, teachers and solicitors. It is a fantastic opportunity to test your limits and set yourself a real challenge - while also helping our heroes to recover and make the most of their own potential."

Please contact Greg on 0151 625 6568 for further information or to book your place on one of the challenge dates.
