Sweet Dilemma For Lemon

28 MAR2011

Andrew Lemoncello in training

Following a series of flat training sessions earlier this month UK Olympic marathon hopeful Andrew Lemoncello, was advised that he needed more fat in his diet to boost energy levels. This wouldn't normally be a problem for the sweet-toothed Lemoncello however the former Fife AC athlete who now trains in the US has given up desserts for Lent.

In a series of remarkable insights into his London Marathon training, Lemoncello reflects on the value of sleep, the timing of his twice-daily sessions, taking time-out from running for other aspects of his life and final stage training focus as well as abstention from desserts. The Scot highlights an equitable temperament when responding positively to blog feedback - "tend to think you have reached just about as far as you are going and the next level may be a step to far!"

Check out Lemoncello's open and interesting athlete's blog at the Runners Life website.

Meanwhile Mo Farah has scorched rumours that he may be deflected from his track objectives for next year's London Olympics to move up to the full marathon distance after a winning debut at half marathon in New York.
