Shameless star and Save the Children ambassador David Threlfall has signed up for the Great Manchester Run. The British actor who created iconic TV character Frank Gallagher will run to raise funds for the Christie.

The Christie, based in Manchester and serving a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, is the largest cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 40,000 patients a year.
