Dave Norman put aside the disappointment of a DNF at London marathon to lead home a record field of 430 at Bramhall parkrun on Easter Saturday. Dave, a popular figure on the north-west running scene, publishes an informative and honest blog on the Runners Life website - worth a look to get a feel for the highs and lows of a dedicated part-time athlete.
There were record holiday weekend turnouts at Barnsley (82), Bradford (140), Heaton Park (163), Hull (205), Middlesborough (305) and Sunderland (87) as the parkrun phenomenon spreads across the north of England.
An impressive start too for Leeds Roundhay parkrun which attracted a field of 139 for the inaugural event without impacting upon the established Leeds parkrun at Hyde Park.
