Women's 5k Open For Entries

17 JUN2011

adidas Womens 5k Challenge

Entries for the UK's largest women-only fun run are now open. The adidas Women's 5K Challenge is for women of all ages and take place every year in Hyde Park, London. Around 15,000 took part in last year's event, which was won by World 10,000m champion Linet Masai of Kenya.

This year's event will take place on Sunday, September 11. The race is also one of the major charity running events of the year. This year, the event's preferred charity is Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Breakthrough is the UK's leading charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education, and has established the UK's first dedicated breast cancer research centre in partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research.

The organisers have developed an all new adidas Pink Ribbon running range so runners can demonstrate their support for the charity. Of every sale, 10% will go to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. For entry information, see: www.womenschallenge.co.uk
