Get Set For Salford

28 JUL2011

Action from the Salford 10k

It's just over five weeks to one of the north-west's most popular event, the City of Salford 10k and 5k, which this year will be held in association with Club La Santa and supported by Salford City Council. It's taking place on Sunday, September 4 at Salford Quays and there's a new route incorporating Mediacity UK, home to the BBC in the North. The course still passes the usual landmarks of Manchester United FC, the Lowry Theatre, the Imperial War Museum and the Lowry Outlet Mall.

A big plus for 2011 is the new 5k run aimed at runners, joggers and walkers - ideal for a charity challenge! The third of the September 4 programme is the Corporate Challenge which aims to find out - who is the fastest company over 5k or 10k? Get together a team of three and see how you do.

There will be a goody bag for entrants in all events, including T-shirt, a Powerbar, a copy of the autumn edition of NORTHERN RUNNING GUIDE plus a few surprises.

Sign up for the event now at race organisers Sports Tours International's website.
