2 AUG2011

Entries for the first staging of the RunLiverpool marathon close on Friday, August 5, so just three days for distance enthusiasts and first-time adventurers to sign-up for the big event. There are still a few places available and organisers are hoping that entries will exceed 10,000.
If you would like to take part in the Long And Winding Road Race then enter now at the event website. Better still contact a charity and get a place running for one of the many good causes that will be out in force on race day, Sunday October 9. RunLiverpool marathon has four official charities - the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, Scope, the 23 Foundation and Marie Curie Cancer Care - and they would be delighted if you decided to run in their colours. There are also dozens of other charities that will be represented at RunLiverpool marathon.
For runners in Liverpool who think that 26.2 miles is a little too far then remember that the Big Heart 5K takes place at Walton Hall Park this Sunday (August 5) with an 11.00am start. Now in it's 4th year The Big Heart 5K was set up in memory of Everton and England legend Alan Ball but attracts followers of both of the city's clubs as well as hundreds of fun runners.
