Online Deadline Looms For Woodford 10K
15 AUG2011

There's just two weeks before online entries for the Woodford 10k close on August 31. The popular event which takes place on Sunday, September 11 will see a field of close to 500 tackle an undulating but scenic course.
The first 2k of the route is on quiet rural roads and then turns onto public footpaths and tracks. Towards the end of the run there is a slight grassy hill before returning to flat quiet rural roads for the final section.
Race organiser Chris Ackers told northernrunningguide.com: "The Woodford 10K is a friendly event for runners of all abilities. It follows a great course and there's a terrific goody bag (and medal) at the end.
"The 10K has been organised specifically to help local charities/causes. This year we are raising funds for The Seashell Trust, which is a school, college and residential home based in Cheadle Hulme caring for children and young people with severe and complex disabilities, combined with significant learning and communication difficulties.
"We're hoping for a big turnout on the day and we'd love to see some of the runners from Greater Manachester's five parkruns step up and test themselves over 10K."
