The new course includes only a 190 metre climb so fast times could be the call of the day if the weather plays its part too. Race HQ is situated 5 minutes from the race start with changing facilities and parking availale for runners.
The run starts on Sion Street, near the junction with Cams Lane. Crossing the Radcliffe Viaduct and following the Nature Trail for over a mile and a half, the runners turn left to follow a steep little climb before getting onto an undulating loop around the fields next to Hurst Wood before returning to the Nature Trail and heading on to a loop around the Phillips Park area before returning via the footbridge over the River Irwell onto Sion Street and then onto Cams Lane to finish on the Nellie Halstead Track. The Garmin shows the route to be very close to 10 miles and to have around 1000 feet of climb in it.
Race HQ is at the Radcliffe Cricket Club, Homer Street, Radcliffe. Entries are £5 (club runners) and £7 (non club runners) with an extra £0.50 charge for on the day entries (with number collection on the day). For more information visit the Radcliffe AC website where entry forms and a map of the race route can be viewed. An interactive map of the racing route can be viewed aswell as a profile of the course elevation.
