Parkrun In Barrow

parkrun arrived in Cumbria on Saturday when 25 runners toed the line in Barrow Park at 9.00am. Garry John Dixon of Barrow & Furness Striders had the honour of finishing first and establishing the course record at 18:09; Ruth Turner was fastest woman in 25:21.Reflecting the inclusiveness that is a hallmark of parkruns throughout the UK, the field included teenagers through to 60somethings and runners of all abilities. parkrun is the weekly 5k timed run. Entry is free but you must register in advance. Details at the parkrun website.
