Liversedge Half Marathon Produces Good Day Out

23 FEB2010

The Liversedge Half Marathon that took place on Sunday February 13th, 2010, produced some great times in what was favourable weather conditions for the time of year. Edward Mitchell was the overall winner of the event, with Sally Malir the winner of the women's race.

Edward Mitchell won the race in a time of 73.16 minutes, a full 2 minutes clear of the rest of the field and Julian Mawson who came home second in a time of 75.26 minutes. Sally Malir of IIkley harriers won the women's race in a time of 91.38 minutes and was 46th position overall. Sally was also the first female Over 45 home. She was followed by Samantha Ayers 30 seconds later who came home in second place.

A total of 418 runners enjoyed the route and the well organised and marshalled route went down very well with the runners and is sure to attract many back next year. Although not a great pb course, the scenery makes up for it! Check out the RunnersWorld event website for comments from runners on the race. Keep an eye out for news on the 2011 event on the Roberttown Road Runners website.
