Parkrun Goes Posh

20 JAN2012

parkrun logo

Following on the successful launch of York parkrun last Saturday, North Yorkshire sees the arrival of another event starting in Harrogate tomorrow (Saturday, January 21). The up-market spa town is set to host Yorkshire's 12th parkrun.

The new event was successfully piloted on January 7 with over 100 runners turning up for the trial run. Event director Adam Prentis and his team of volunteers are now looking forward to staging the first run on Saturday at the Stray, a fiercely protected 200 acres of green open space that surrounds the historic centre of Harrogate.

parkrun is the weekly 5K timed run open to runners of all abilities. Entry is free but you have to register in advance - go to the parkrun website.
