Mo Conquers Cube

2 FEB2012

Mo Farah

Endurance running superstar Mo Farah has added another monumental achievement to his growing collection. The World and European 5000m champion has reportedly become the first person ever to conquer The Cube, the ITV game show which challenges contestants to complete increasingly tricky physical and skilful challenges within a confined glass space.

The hit show first aired in August 2009 and no contestant has ever beaten The Cube and scooped the £250,000 top prize, until now.

Speaking in The Metro newspaper, host Phillip Schofield - who had vowed never to step into The Cube until someone completed all the challenges - said: "The atmosphere in the studio was so tense, I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

"We made the decision before Show 1 that the only time I would ever go into The Cube on TV was if someone actually beat it. It was great to finally get inside and to congratulate Mo on his astonishing win!"

The £0.25m prize is set to go to the Mo Farah Foundation which provides aid to those affecting by East African droughts. Mo's success is due to be broadcast in an upcoming celebrity special of The Cube.
