Dentdale Race Helps local school
26 FEB2010
The rural 14 mile road race around Dentdale takes place on Sunday March 14, 2010, starting at 1pm. With all proceeds of the race going to Dent C of E Primary School, it is a great way of supporting your local community as well as getting in that Sunday afternoon run.

The start is from Dent Primary School, The Laning, Dent, LA10 5QJ. With a few hills in the single lap route to challenge the runners, the free refreshments at the end of the race will be very welcome! Free hot drinks, sandwiches, cakes, scones, etc for all the runners is provided by the Dentdale WI.
Changing, toilets, showers, onsite parking, refreshments and supervised bag storage are all available at the start. The UK Athletics bronze graded event is a popular event with 94% of the runners taking part last year saying that they would look to run again this year, so get your last minute entry in before the limit is reached (700). The scenery along the route also rated very high with runners along with the atmosphere and the organisation of the event.
One runner summed up the event: "Beautiful location, hilly but not mountainous, great local support. Well organised, well supported, friendly race that raises money for the village school. Dent is not the easiest place to get to but the scenery makes it worthwhile. Steep hill near the start but after that reasonable hill/flat mix. Good pubs for post race relaxation. An enjoyable day out"
Race entry is for club runners (£9) and non club runners (£11) with a £2 surcharge for on the day entries. Last year's results can be viewed on the Dentdale website.
