Ultra Race Confirmed For Peak District

22 FEB2012

Peak District

Team Accelerate UK has announced a new event for the August Bank Holiday. The race - the Ultra Tour of the Peak District - will form part of the 'Big Running Weekend' and is set for August 25/26.

News of the Big Running Weekend was unveiled to runners attending the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival expert talk on Ultra Running. The Ultra will see runners embark on a 56.5 mile race across the Peak District and ascend a total of 2722 metres.

The running weekend will be based from Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, and will also incorporate other events for those not quite ready for ultra marathon distance. Those will include a Tour Relay, 14 Mile Trail Race, a 10K Trail Race and Junior Trail Race.

A website for the event with entry details will be available by the end of the month. More information can be accessed at the Team Accelerate Facebook page.
