The team behind We Love Manchester 10K, City of Salford 10K and the Tour of Tameside is expanding its North West portfolio of races. Now Sports Tours International is bringing big time 10k racing to Preston on Sunday 30 September in the shape of the newly titled City of Preston 10K.

Formerly known at the Run Preston 10K, the City of Preston 10K will start and finish in the centre of the city around the Guild Hall and Flag Market area, following a similar route to 2017. Sports Tour International is now planning on bringing their organisational and marketing firepower to create an event that has a pull across the whole of the North West. Sports Tours International's Kevin Harmer is confident that an already important event can be taken to a new level to create a spectacle that the whole of Preston can get behind.

The event will see an officially timed 10k race from the heart of the city which will follow a similar route to previous years, where hundreds of supporters will line the route and cheer the participants. In addition to the 10k, there will also be a ‘fun run’ on race day suitable for all ages and ability levels. Buggies and walkers welcome too!

Sports Tours International is expecting local businesses and charities to get behind this community focussed event and has already confirmed Preston-based PAR Group as an official race partner.

Sports Tours International logoEntries for the City of Preston 10K open today (Wednesday 14 February) with an Early Bird entry fee of £17 (£15 non-affiliated). All entries include official chip timing, water on the route and at the finish, commemorative medal and finisher's technical T-shirt.
