The Spartan obstacle race series returns to Scotland this summer, featuring challenging hills that will do their best to drain the energy from your legs. The Spartan Edinburgh Beast, Ultra Beast, and Sprint Weekend will be held on on 22-23 July at Spittal Farm in Ninemileburn, Midlothian.
The event promises to test participants’ mental strength, endurance, grit and perseverance. With a Sprint (5k+, 20+ Obstacles), Beast (20k+, 30+ Obstacles) and an Ultra Beast (42k+, 50+ Obstacles), there is something for all levels of experience.
Organisers say: “It is always a pleasure to host events in areas of such natural beauty and you'll no doubt find yourself drawn in to the picturesque surroundings of Spittal Farm. The scenery will boost your enjoyment and make you want to get to that finish line even faster.”
Situated among beautiful rolling Scottish hills, Midlothian is truly a sight to be seen. With countless historical structures and castles, individual Spartans and families will have more than enough history to keep themselves occupied while taking in the sights of one of Scotland's true treasures. Midlothian is also adjacent to one of Scotland's hippest cities – Edinburgh. Edinburgh features countless bars and restaurants for toting those medals around post-race, with plenty of museums and historical structures to keep Spartans busy during downtime before the race.
