Trail Run Returns To Mountain Festival

Kendal Trail Run

Known for incorporating some of Kendal’s finest landmarks and attracting trail enthusiasts from across the country, the adidas Terrex Trail Run returns next Saturday (18 November). Staged on the penultimate day of the Kendal Mountain Festival, the 10k has consistently been a highlight of the outdoor social event and has been voted as one of the top 50 races of 2017.

Saturday’s field, expected to be around the 500 mark, can expect a classic trail run strewn with natural obstacles – no haybales or mudbaths – just lots of great ascents, jawdropping vistas, some hard packed and grassy trails and a great town centre finish.

Starting from the Birdcage, the well known Kendal landmark at the top of Finkle Street, the route heads out of town taking in the Tour of Britain finish climb up Beast Banks before heading out off road onto the old Racecourse and up to Scouts Scar.

The second half of the run continues along Cunswick Scar before turning right again to cross the bypass road bridge, onto the golf course with some interesting final descents of Kendal’s cobbled ginnels back into the town centre for the Finish.

Registration for the event is priced at £15, with online entries closing on midnight 17 November. On the day entry will be available however at £20.
