The Manchester-based race organiser now stages events from Liverpool to Tameside and from the Etihad Stadium to Preston and they are always looking for ways to improve the quality of their races.

Liverpool Harriers’ Daniel Cliffe put in his strongest showing of the year to take the title at the Wigan 10K. Sunday’s (9 September) event saw close to 2,500 runners line up on Market Street in Wigan Town Centre, with the field set on their way by 10-year-old Jack Johnson, the inspiration behind the event’s organising charity, Joining Jack.

Magic Mo savours seven in a row at Salford 10K

Magic Mo

While Farah was hitting the high notes of a fifth victory at the Great North Run, Salford was savouring the exploits of its very own champion, Mohammed Abu-Rezeq. The Altrincham & District runner recorded his seventh consecutive victory at the race on a day in which the UKFast City of Salford 10K further cemented its status as one of the north west’s premier events.
