Girls on Hills to take on the Lake District

Girls on Hills, who provide women with the opportunity to break free from the road and take their running into the mountains, have organised a weekend course in Grasmere in the Lake District, this spring (11 & 12 May). The company was formed in Glencoe, Scotland, last year, and after unprecedented growth and requests for more courses, they have broadened their portfolio with the support of Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports.

Share the love at English Half

The English Half Marathon

Time is running out to share the love for the English Half Marathon festival with organsiers offering a 15% discount until the close of play today (Valentine’s Day) for anyone entering the 13.1 mile or 10k distances. Now under a banner of the EHM Festival of Run, the event, scheduled across the weekend of 13–15 September, is a focal point in the Warrington sporting calendar.

Cumbria unseen at Silverdale Circuit

The Silverdale Circuit

This weekend’s Silverdale Circuit (Saturday 16 February) will provide 180 lucky participants the opportunity to run through some of Cumbria and the surrounding areas finest natural spots across a testing 20 mile course. According to race organiser Jeff Mitchell, “the unmarked and undulating route covers amazing, varied trails in this underrated area of outstanding natural beauty.”

Run Wigan festival only getting busier

Run Wigan 5k

This year’s Run Wigan Festival, organised by the Joining Jack charity, will be a busier day than normal for the race organisers on Sunday 17 March. Already featuring a Half Marathon, a 5K and a Family Mile, this year’s event will also include a fourth distance – the brand new Wigan 10 Miler – which is proving to be a big hit with only 100 places remaining.

Doors open for Yorkshire 10 miler

Yorkshire 10 Mile race

Entries for the only 10 mile event in the Run For All portfolio are now open, with organsiers once again expecting a strong demand for places. An electric atmosphere, plus a cracking course that adopts many features of the 26.2 mile race, are both features that have made the Asda Foundation Yorkshire 10 Mile race a bit hit since its launch in 2015.
