Tickets for the Manchester International on Wednesday 15 August have gone on general release. The event, which will once again take place at Manchester Regional Arena, will see the England team take on competition from Home Country representative teams and more.
With athletes from across the UK in action, the international will provide an important competition opportunity for the athletes selected to represent England. The inclusion of the 10,000m represents a big draw for the event and online applications for the championships, with the entry standard set at 30:30 for men and 34:30 women, are now open.
England Athletics Teams and Competition Manager Andy Day commented: “We have seen great competitions at the Manchester International over the past few years since the event’s launch. There has been a superb atmosphere at the event which the athletes involved have all benefitted from and enjoyed.
“The addition of the men’s and women’s English 10,000m championships adds two more exciting events to the programme as well as giving our endurance runners a great opportunity to compete in that environment.”
National Endurance Lead Spencer Duval echoed the sentiment and emphasised the importance of the 10,000m: “The inclusion of the 10,000m championships as part of the Manchester International is something I’m sure the athletes will welcome and enjoy.”
“The interest and standard of domestic 10,000m running has grown through this period. It is good that we can now offer this opportunity for a high-quality race later in the season.
Adult tickets are priced at just £5 and there is free entry for under 16s.
