The inaugural 24hr Summer Running Festival will take place at Stadt Moers Park in Knowsley on Bank Holiday Weekend of 29/30 August 2015. The innovative event entails 23 separate 5.5k races, which start every hour from 2pm on Saturday through to 1pm on Sunday.
With its location at Knowsley’s Stadt Moers Park, the race is also an ideal opportunity to make the most of some of the park’s brand new trails. The festival is open for runners in teams of 2,3,4,5 or 8, although there is a solo option available for those looking to test their limits of endurance.
In addition to the attractive scenery and innovative format, there will be a variety of music throughout, including several samba bands. There will also be a race commentator, 24 hour food, chip-timimg, showers, plenty of toilets and bouncy castles and face-painting for the kids. Camping is included in the price and each site is located close to the start and finish area.
The event is organised by Mersey Races, the team behind the Liverpool Spring 10K. Race organiser Matt Davies says: "Runners can expect lots of colour and music at the 24 Hour Summer Running Festival. The course length and varying team sizes means that all abilities can take part - from 10k runners right through to marathon and ultra marathoners."
