Doncaster 10K 2018 is a sell out with 3,000 set to line up at the town's racecourse on Sunday (25 November). To tie in with the event's location, organisers have asked each participant to provide a race horse name, which will be shouted out when they cross the finish line this weekend.
The event, organised by Curly's Athletes, made a strong first impression in 2017 when over 1600 runners took part. To keep up with the increased demand, entry levels were pushed to 3,000 and this quota has been filled.
Sunday’s race will see the field tackle a predominantly flat route that begins from Doncaster racecourse and finishes in front of the main grandstand, allowing for a memorable conclusion to the race.
Speaking ahead of the 10K, Jono from Curly's Athletes told runABC North: “We are really looking forward to a few new things we’ve added this year, alongside the ‘horse name shout out into the finishing line at the racecourse’ we’ve also added a free pie, free hot chocolate at the finish for every runner"
On what else Sunday’s runners can expect, Jono continued: "We've opened up lots of inside space, we have stilt walkers, running statues and have introduced pacers to support people along the way! “
Keep an eye out for our race report early next week.
