A charity which cares for children and their families across the West Midlands has free places in this year’s Great Birmingham Run.
Acorns Children’s Hospice is calling on runners to join Team Acorns and help raise vital funds towards the charity’s care for children with life limiting and life threatening conditions.
Birmingham’s biggest half marathon event is taking place on Sunday, 14 October and Acorns has 20 free charity places available for runners who raise £250 to support local children.
Sam Greatrex, Senior Events Manager for Acorns, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to take on an epic challenge to help Acorns continue its vital work. By choosing to support Acorns you'll be making a real difference to local life limited and life threatened children and their families. Your £250 sponsorship could help cover the cost of an overnight stay at one of our hospices for five families.”
As a member of Team Acorns runners will receive an exclusive Acorns running vest or T-shirt, fundraising advice and support to help you hit your target and regular email updates from the events team.
Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care to children and young people as well as support for the family. In the past year Acorns has cared for over 870 children and more than 1,090 families, including those who are bereaved.
