Organisers of the Run For All series have announced a new partnership with leading open ear sports headphone brand, Aftershokz. The arrangement means that participants in any Run For All event will be entitled to a £10 discount when they purchase a pair of Aftershokz headphones.
Unlike conventional headphones and earbuds that use the eardrums to transmit sound, AfterShokz transmits sound through the listener's cheekbones to the inner ear, bypassing the eardrum completely. This ensures the user has full awareness of noise and situations around them.
The Run For All team are behind the popular 10k races (Leeds, York, Lincoln, Hull and Burnley) and the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon Series which features events in York, Leeds and Sheffield.
Lynne Preston, Run For All’s event manager, said: “We are delighted to announce this new partnership. We know that many runners train with music and want to listen to it as they take part in our events.”
“Conventional headphones are specifically designed to block out ambient sounds. AfterShokz unique open ear design offers more than just increased comfort when worn at length; it permits users to hear everything around them, heightening awareness and fostering safety, particularly critical during outdoor activity.”
