Race organisers Run For All have issued a rallying call to anyone interested in volunteering at the upcoming Asda Foundation Bury 10K. Sunday 18 September marks the debut of the event, which will become the latest race in the successful Run For All series.
Launched in June, the 10k is expected to draw in a field of over 1,000 competitors. The race is backed by the Bury-based I Will If You Will (IWIYW) fitness movement, which aims to help women in the area get more active.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles including marshalling, helping out at the start and finish and along the route, at drink stations, at the baggage store, and to hand runners their hard-earned medals and goody bags.
Charlie Tatman, Run For All Events manager, said: “Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation and we could not put on our runs without them. I know our volunteers find it really rewarding to help at events that support so many good causes. The effort they put in and the super atmosphere they help create is greatly appreciated by all the runners. Anyone who can spare us a few hours on Sunday 18 September will be warmly welcomed.”
