The Alsager 5 mile race that took place on Sunday February 7, 2010 was a great sucess with wins for Nick McCormick of Morpeth and local girl Michelle Ross Cope. 948 runners took part with some fast times being recorded.
The men's race was won by Nick McCormick of Morpeth Harriers in a time of 23.33minutes followed closely by Chris Davies of Telford AC in a time of 23.37minutes. Michelle Ross-Cope of City of Stoke was the female winner in a time of 26.53minutes followed by Gemma Steel of Charwood AC in a time of 27.33minutes.
The weather was very favourable for the time of year and enabled many runners to post a PB in what is considered to be one of the fastest 5 mile races in the racing calendar. Sale Harriers just pipped Tipton Harriers to the men's team first prize, with Sale Harriers also winning the women's team prize ahead of Trentham Running Club.
