Entries are open now for the Big Fun Run 5Ks which will be held in 18 locations across the UK between June and October next year. Under-fives go free at the events which are open to everyone and not timed, providing a chance to have fun in the great outdoors without any pressure to beat the clock.
Big Fun Run organiser, Neil Kilgour, said: "The Big Fun Run is strictly for fun! It's all about easy, relaxed exercise. There are no times, no pressure, no sweat. It's all about easy moves, lots of laughs and fun with your friends and family. This isn't about Olympic level athletes charging about in record times. It's about mums with prams, dads with toddlers, fancy dress and a fantastic fun mix. Are you getting a picture of something a little bit different? Come and be a part of it. We'd love to see you and all are welcome."
More than 7,000 people took part in the 2012 Big Fun Run series, raising £100,000 for charities. The events proved particularly popular with children's charities due to their low-key and friendly atmosphere. Building on this, organisers are confident that record numbers will sign up for 2013. The runs are held scenic locations across the UK, including the Town Moor in Newcastle, Rother Valley Country Park in Sheffield, and Sefton Park in Liverpool.
Entries are now open for the Big Fun Run 2013. Early bird entries which close on 13 January 2013 cost £10.49 for adults, £7.49 for children and concessions, and are free for kids under five. Entries after 14 January 2013 cost £11.49 for adults and £9.49 for children and concessions (kids under five remain free).
