BTR LIVERPOOL 10 MILE ROAD RACE – A CLASSIC RACE DISTANCE.
Given the huge number of half marathon and 10K races to choose from it is surprising just how few ten mile races there are given it is such a good distance to run or race.
Introduced last year to compliment the Vitality Liverpool Half Marathon, the BTR 10 Miler is a great alternative to the established 13.1 mile distance and provides a great stepping stone option from 10K.
Hosted in conjunction with the long established Liverpool Half Marathon (which is once again sponsored by Vitality) the BTR 10 Miler starts and finishes in the shadow of the famous Royal Liver Building and follows a good course from the city centre as far as Sefton Park before returning to Pier Head Liverpool along the River Mersey waterfront promenade.
Taking in many of the famous Liverpool landmarks, the course is predominantly flat with just one incline at the 1 mile point before heading through stunning parkland to Otterspool Promenade and the home straight.
Ok it’s four miles long but it is the home straight!
At the 13 mile marker just approaching the finish you will be exposed to the famous Three Graces on the Liverpool waterfront. A stunning sight indeed - and where else can you finish on a World Heritage Site?
